When you use an account or writing feature, we process the information you provide: account details, interview answers, writing samples, drafts, edits, reference links and image information. We keep your saved versions, selected settings, usage records and policy acceptance records. Our hosting and authentication providers also process technical information such as IP addresses, request logs, device information and session identifiers for operation and security.
We use this information to provide your workspace, generate and revise requested content, save your work, protect accounts, respond to support requests and maintain the service. We use policy acceptance records to document the terms that apply to your account. We do not sell your drafts or use them for targeted advertising.
When Google sign-in is available and you choose it, Google provides your account identifier, name, email address and profile picture, if available. Neon, our authentication provider, stores the profile and credentials needed to authenticate your account. We use this information to create or identify your BylineGo account, maintain sign-in and protect access. Vercel hosts the application that uses this account information. We do not request Gmail, Drive or Calendar access. We do not send your Google sign-in profile to our AI writing service, use it for advertising or sell it.
You can manage or revoke the connection in your Google Account connections. Revoking Google access does not itself delete saved BylineGo content. Use Delete account in BylineGo or contact us to request deletion, subject to the retention provisions below. Email sign-in remains available.
When Apple sign-in is available and you choose it, Apple provides an account identifier and, when shared, a verified email address. If you choose Hide My Email, this may be an Apple private relay address. We use that information to create or identify your BylineGo account and protect access to your saved work. Neon stores the account directory record. Our application, hosted by Vercel, stores the Apple connection, expiring sign-in sessions and encrypted credentials needed to maintain or revoke the connection.
We receive signed Apple notifications about revoked access, deletion of an Apple Account and changes to email forwarding. We use them to disable affected Apple sign-in sessions and honor forwarding changes. We do not request iCloud files, contacts, photos, calendars or payment details through Apple sign-in. We do not send Apple sign-in information to our AI writing service, sell it or use it for advertising.
Connecting Apple to an existing BylineGo account requires confirmation while signed into that account. Matching email addresses alone do not merge accounts. If account creation is interrupted, limited recovery records may remain until the issue is resolved or you request their removal through support.
You can revoke access in your Apple Account settings. Revoking Apple access does not itself delete your saved BylineGo writing or cancel a subscription. Use Delete account in BylineGo to request deletion. When you delete your BylineGo account, we revoke the stored Apple authorization; if Apple is temporarily unavailable, encrypted revocation data remains only while cleanup is pending. Store subscriptions must be cancelled through the store separately.
Your saved drafts, writing samples and images belong to your account workspace. We do not make them available to other customers through a shared article library, member directory or public feed. Creating or saving content does not publish it. You choose what to download or approve for an available connected destination. Copies you publish or share outside BylineGo are governed by that destination’s rules. Provider processing and authorized access are described below.
When you ask for a draft or rewrite, relevant content is sent to OpenAI to perform that request. A draft request includes your brief and writing preferences. A selected-passage rewrite includes that passage, your tone and any writing sample. Avoid submitting confidential third-party information or sensitive personal data that is not needed for the task.
We disable stored response history for our OpenAI Responses API requests. Image generation uses a separate API. These settings do not mean the provider retains nothing: security logs and other provider retention rules can still apply. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default. See OpenAI’s API data controls. BylineGo does not use your drafts to train its own models.
Vercel provides website hosting. Neon provides hosted database and authentication services. OpenAI processes requested AI operations. Providers process information needed for their services under their applicable terms. Authorized personnel may access information for support, security or legal obligations. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect rights or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
Images you upload or generate are stored privately with your account. Uploaded images are sent to OpenAI to suggest captions and alt text when you use the image tools. LinkedIn connections and explicitly approved posting are available to invited accounts. Connecting stores your LinkedIn member identifier, display name, granted permissions, expiry and an encrypted access token. When you approve a post, its text and any approved image and alt text are sent to LinkedIn for public publication. We retain the approved version, delivery receipt and limited failure diagnostics in your account. Disconnecting removes the stored connection. Deleting your BylineGo account does not delete posts already published on LinkedIn; manage those on LinkedIn. X connections, when enabled, use the same encrypted connection and approved-post records for posts. With your permission, we store an encrypted X refresh token to renew access until you disconnect or revoke it. When X publishing is enabled, X receives the post text and any image and image description you explicitly approve. We retain the approved version and delivery result. We do not request access to your direct messages or email. Disconnecting BylineGo does not delete posts already on X. Instagram connections, when enabled for invited accounts, store your professional account identifier, username, granted profile and publishing permissions, expiry and an encrypted access token. We renew valid Instagram access when you use the app near its expiry; disconnected or expired access is not renewed. Connecting does not send drafts or publish anything. Facebook Page connections store the selected Page identifiers, names, granted permissions and encrypted Page access tokens; the personal Facebook token is used during setup and is not stored. When publishing is enabled, Facebook and Instagram receive only the text, image and alt text you explicitly approve. Instagram retrieves the approved image through a signed link that expires after ten minutes. We keep the approved version and delivery result; disconnecting or deleting your account does not remove posts already published on these platforms. No direct-message or comment permissions are requested. Disconnecting removes the stored connection. Recurring public publication is not enabled. Stripe processes web subscription payments. We store customer, subscription and payment references, billing status, paid periods and allowance records. Payment card details are handled by Stripe rather than stored in BylineGo.
App Store and Google Play subscriptions. When you buy a subscription in a store edition of BylineGo, Apple or Google handles payment. BylineGo receives and stores purchase and subscription identifiers, the product purchased, purchase and renewal dates, subscription status and the access or allowance associated with your account. We use these records to verify purchases, restore access, handle renewals, cancellations and refunds, prevent duplicate allowances and provide support. We store purchase references in encrypted form when needed to check subscription status. BylineGo does not receive your full payment card details from these stores. Apple and Google process payment information under their own privacy policies.
Store subscriptions and deletion. Account exports include your store subscription and purchase records. Deleting your BylineGo account removes those records from the application. We retain minimal hashed purchase identifiers to prevent later store notifications from restoring a deleted account. Deleting your BylineGo account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google. Manage or cancel that subscription in your store account. Store payment records remain subject to the store provider's retention requirements.
When you choose Research and draft or Research and improve SEO, your topic, supporting notes and suggested sources are sent to OpenAI for web research. Public search queries and source retrieval may be used. Do not include confidential information in research notes. SEO improvement also uses your draft, audience, chosen search phrase, optional market and image descriptions. Phrase suggestions are inferences, not search-volume measurements. Research does not guarantee that every claim or source is accurate.
When you request a claim review, relevant draft text and research material are sent to OpenAI. Checking reference links also contacts the linked websites from our server. Those sites can receive the requested address and server connection information. Use public source links, not private links containing access tokens.
Invited testers and team members can send notes and screenshots to our support team. We store these privately and email them with your account email to support@bylinego.com through Google Workspace. Other testers cannot see your submissions. We resize screenshots and remove image metadata. Please remove sensitive information before submitting. Feedback is included in your account export and removed from the app when you delete your account. Scheduled cleanup removes app copies after 90 days; interruptions can delay cleanup. Support mailbox copies are separate and may remain for handling your request or meeting legal obligations. Contact us to request their removal.
We send payment and completed-refund confirmations to your verified account email through Google Workspace. We keep the invoice reference, amounts and delivery status with your account. These records are included in your export and removed from the app when you delete your account. Email and payment-provider copies follow their own retention requirements. A confirmation does not guarantee that your bank has posted a refund.
When you start a writing schedule, we keep a copy of the selected brief, writing preferences, topics and timing. We send that information to OpenAI when each draft is due, including web research when you select it. If you select an image for each draft, the new writing is also sent to OpenAI to generate an illustration and suggest its caption and alt text. Images and descriptions remain editable. New drafts remain in your workspace for review. You can pause future runs at any time; a run already in progress may still finish. We keep run history to show completed drafts and failures.
We use essential session cookies to maintain access and protect requests. The private local preview uses a session cookie that expires after 30 days. Hosting or authentication services may use essential security cookies. We have not added advertising trackers or nonessential analytics. We will request any legally required consent before introducing nonessential tracking.
In Account, you can download your account data as a JSON file. It includes saved drafts and versions, images, voices, schedules, activity and policy acceptance records. It is a data copy rather than a formatted document. Records are collected during the download, so changes made at the same time can appear differently across sections. Passwords, session tokens, provider credentials and provider security logs are not included.
We retain saved content while your account remains active. In Account, you can permanently delete your account after confirming your identity and the deletion. A recent verified Google sign-in can confirm your identity when that option is enabled; otherwise we verify your current password. This removes your login and hosted workspace content, including drafts, versions, images, saved voices, schedules, activity and acceptance records. Download anything you want to keep first. If cleanup is interrupted, access stays blocked while cleanup is retried.
We retain a minimal internal record of the deleted account identifier, deletion status and dates to prevent unfinished jobs from restoring deleted data. This record does not contain your drafts or email address. A request already sent to an AI provider may still finish there. Provider backups and security logs follow the providers’ retention cycles and any applicable legal requirements. Deleting your account does not remove copies you previously downloaded or shared outside BylineGo.
Archiving a saved voice keeps it available to restore. Permanently deleting an archived voice removes that saved voice and its versions. Copies already included in drafts or writing schedules remain with those items until separately changed or the account is deleted.
Account email protection uses a coded recipient identifier and request times rather than storing the email address in its counters. Counters older than one hour are cleared during later requests and scheduled cleanup; interruptions can delay cleanup.
The local preview stores drafts on the computer running it. Those drafts are separate from hosted accounts and are not automatically uploaded when you register or removed by hosted account deletion. Contact us if you need help obtaining, correcting or deleting information or cannot access your account. We verify requests before changing account data.
You can choose what content to submit, edit or download your drafts and contact us to exercise privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw optional consent or complain to a privacy authority. We do not condition basic service on marketing consent. Acknowledging this policy does not waive your legal rights.
We use encrypted connections, protected server credentials and account access checks. No system can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate. BylineGo is intended for adults aged 18 or older. Do not use it to collect information from children.
We show the latest update date above and record acceptance versions separately. Material changes will be brought to your attention before they apply where required. We will not use a policy update to silently authorize a materially different use of your existing private content.
